A look at Afghanistan as a culture

Many Most people know Afghanistan as a wartorn region of the East. And so it is.

But it is also so very much more than that. It is a culture with a people who have a history, and ways. It is daily routines, and timeless traditions. It is filled with character, and soaked with beauty.

But you seldom see that in the news.

One of the CURE hospitals is in Kabul, Afghanistan. Although I have not personally been to the hospital, I work along side people in the headquarters who have and travel there regularly.

In fact, Rick, the Medical Director at our hospital there spends a few weeks back here with his family and working out of the home office in Central PA, and then goes back for a few months to serve in the hospital.

We hear stories of life in Afghanistan all the time from Rick and others who work at the hospital, or travel to it. And the stories we hear convey the beauty of these people in a very difficult land. Much like this video.
